Kick off the holiday season with us at the community tree lighting! Because nothing spreads holiday cheer (and seasonal sniffles) quite like crowding outside during the PNW winter to watch a slightly-larger-than-average pine tree get plugged into an extension cord.

All jokes aside, it's a great local tradition and a fun way to get into the holiday spirit! There's a holiday market, live music, and the big man himself (Santa, not Alex) lights up the tree.

When & Where: We'll meet up at Loyal Legion at 5:30pm & grab a drink, before walking 3 blocks to Esther Short Park at 6pm. The tree lighting is scheduled for 6:30pm, assuming Rudolph doesn't get stuck on the I-5, after which we'll return to Loyal Legion for a proper Nightlife in the Couve holiday kickoff - aka, drinking until they kick us out.

Logistics:

• Layer up for the weather - or don't; I'm not your mother.

• Plan a little extra time for parking! Some lots may also be requesting donations.

• Make sure to stay hydrated! Personally, I will be bringing a thermos with completely ordinary, absolutely non-spiked hot cider...

• If you get separated from the group, panic! Launch a flare! Or just check the event chat for location updates.
