ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Oregon lawmakers on the House Committee heard testimony last Thursday about HB 3512, a law that would ban PFAS chemicals from 2026, which are found in many everyday products. The bill would fully end these chemicals by 2028 and a work session must be set by March 20—lawmakers say it will protect both health and the environment.  KATU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington County faces a forecasted $20.5 million gap in its General Fund and a budget committee meeting is set for March 18th—officials plan to discuss service cuts and potential new revenue options to close the gap. They will review proposals and work toward a balanced budget by April 28th—ensuring fiscal readiness for the year starting July 1.  Hillsboro Herald
