- ➤ Residents in the region still face the curse of Bradford pear trees that fill the air with a rotten smell each spring. The trees, imported from East Asia and once popular for their blooms, now cross-pollinate to produce messy fruit and unwelcome odors on sidewalks. KATU

- ➤ Ski enthusiasts have a chance to enjoy fresh powder as the Cascades are set to receive heavy snowfall from Wednesday to Friday; after Mount Hood Meadows closed its season early, Timberline will remain open until May 25. KATU
- ➤ Century High School will start its first sanctioned boys volleyball season on Monday, April 6 at Forest Grove High School with matches against Forest Grove and Glencoe. Coach Kinsey Barnett said the team, made up of skilled club players, is excited to showcase its talent. Hillsboro News-Times
