GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State representatives will soon vote on House Bill 3075, which would change Ballot Measure 114 on gun control — the bill raises permit fees, extends the permit review period from 30 to 60 days, and adds photo ID checks, a new training course with an in-person demo, and an exemption for active law enforcement and military members.  KATU

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new 308-unit apartment community is planned at the old Macy’s site in Hillsboro as Alliance Residential Company and Urbal Architecture propose demolishing the existing building while keeping the parking garage and skybridge. The future project will include retail space and a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments to add needed rental options in east Hillsboro — a move that may affect local housing costs.  Hillsboro Herald
