  • Rose Festival CityFair offers $12 day tickets and $25 season pass (weekends from May 22 through June 7) for a local celebration that promises fun for residents.  KATU

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hillsboro Symphony Orchestra will present 'A World of Dance' at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 24 at Walters Cultural Arts Center (527 E. Main Street) where global dance traditions will be showcased. Tickets cost $27 in advance and $32 at the door.  Hillsboro News-Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The library at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility reopened today for the first time since the pandemic, as books (stored in a gear closet for half a decade) became moldy and damaged.  KATU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Portland metro leaders ask community members to share input for a 50-year vision for the region; a 23-member commission will review feedback and shape plans next year. The survey is open for about a month to gather ideas for the region's future.  KATU

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Hops tied their series with an 8-4 win over Tri-City on April 1 at Gesa Stadium (in Pasco) as Kenny Castillo had three hits and four RBI. The teams will meet again at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.  Hillsboro News-Times
  • The Trail Blazers secured their playoff spot after Tuesday's win and Portland now expects at least two home playoff games at Moda; ticket prices are rising as fans begin buying seats for upcoming games.  KATU
