  • Oregon's unemployment rate rose to 4.6% in March—its highest since August 2021—and nonfarm employment increased by 7,300 jobs mainly in health care and social assistance. The Employment Department will release county and metropolitan unemployment rates on April 22 and state survey data on May 14.  KATU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A bipartisan group of legislators introduced HB 2006 — a bill designed to limit the number of bills per session — to make lawmaking easier to follow. Hillsboro Senator Janeen Sollman said the measure will boost transparency and let committees review key policies more carefully.  KATU

SPORTS NEWS

  • A swarm of honeybees invaded the Hillsboro Hops bullpen Tuesday night as a beekeeper safely removed them + the team lost 8-2 to Spokane. The incident occurred before the planned move to a new ballpark next season + the episode highlighted the unusual on-field antics during the game.  KATU
