HEALTH NEWS

  • A study found that Oregon’s 2019 law requiring nonprofit hospitals to offer sliding-scale help reduced medical debt collection by at least 872 residents per county before today. Researchers warned that sustaining the law will be a challenge as upcoming Medicaid cuts loom and said it could guide similar reforms.  Hillsboro News-Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Block 67 in downtown Hillsboro will soon begin redevelopment as Koz Development starts sitework on two buildings — affordable housing with a Fresh Foods anchor grocery store. The city sold the lot for $1 and construction will span from this month through spring 2028.  Hillsboro News-Times

  • The Westview boys golf team have won four Metro League events at Rock Creek, Chehalem Glenn, Langdon Farms and Meriwether—coach Keoki Rosimo said strong senior leadership and promising play from sophomore Maddox Jones have driven their success.  Hillsboro News-Times
