ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, forecasts show that local temperatures will hit 80 degrees with a potential 90 by Sunday, and highs will drop into the upper 70s on Monday. A burn ban goes into effect tonight (to reduce wildfire risk) amid dry conditions. KATU
- ➤ Early Wednesday, people in Oregon saw a bright blue-green fireball flash in the sky for about 3.5 seconds. Experts say the meteor event was harmless and the American Meteor Society is now reviewing reports from Washington, British Columbia, and Oregon — more details may emerge. KATU
