  • Connoisseur Media will buy Alpha Media’s seven local radio stations and the deal is waiting for FCC approval to close in the second half of the year (three of Alpha’s stations recently ranked in the top 10).  KATU

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Average gas prices in Oregon dropped by 2.6 cents in the past week to 3.83 per gallon, a GasBuddy survey showed with prices ranging from 3.29 to 4.49 per gallon. OPEC+ plans to increase oil production in June—this may boost supply and lead to lower prices.  KATU

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today the Oregon State Fire Marshal urged residents to create defensible space to reduce wildfire risk—advising them to trim trees, clear flammable debris within 100 feet of homes, and clean roofs and gutters—and local fire agencies are set to boost staffing and modernize equipment as wildfire season approaches.  KATU

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Residents in Orenco are discussing a proposed rezoning of the Synopsys campus near WinCo on Cornelius Pass Road that will change the site from a business park to a medium-density residential area for a new apartment project. The Planning and Zoning Hearings Board will review the change at its scheduled meetings—residents with concerns over rising traffic, especially along Cherry Street, are urged to submit testimony.  Hillsboro Herald
