  • Oregon’s unemployment rate increased to 4.7% in April from 4.6% in March based on data from the Employment Department, and employers added 1,200 nonfarm payroll jobs with gains in leisure and hospitality—job losses occurred in transportation, warehousing and utilities.  KXL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sen. Ron Wyden sent a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver asking him to keep the bond between Portland and the Trail Blazers as Paul Allen’s estate begins selling the team—highlighting the long history of basketball in our city. Phil Knight recently stated he is no longer interested in buying the team after earlier bid speculations emerged.  KOIN
