  • Shake Shack is opening its new Hillsboro location at 3651 S.E. Cornelius Pass Road in Reed’s Crossing Town Center on June 11 at 10:30 a.m. The fast-casual chain will donate $1 to the Oregon Food Bank for each sandwich sold that day—its opening promotion—adding a fourth state spot and a third in Washington County.  Hillsboro News-Times

  • Rick Shanley was chosen as acting CEO of Clean Water Services after reports of lavish spending led to CEO Diane Taniguchi-Dennis’s planned retirement on June 6—he brings over 30 years of environmental engineering experience to help steady the agency as it serves more than 610,000 customers.  Hillsboro News-Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • The new Hillsboro Recovery Center will open on Sunday, June 2 at 5250 N.E. Elam Young Parkway to provide recovery services for those with substance use disorders and mental health needs—offering full services by July as a second site in Beaverton is planned for the fall.  Hillsboro News-Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • Eight teams played on Wednesday night and Jesuit, Sherwood, and Sunset won close games to reach the state quarterfinals as Jesuit tied the game with a bases-loaded walk, Sherwood edged Sprague, and Sunset beat Clackamas. Sherwood will host Jesuit at 5 p.m. today — Sunset will face Central Catholic at 5 p.m. today.  Hillsboro News-Times
