Merkley that enough firefighters are ready for wildfires but federal cuts have reduced support staff and teams—tools needed to manage major fires—and warned that hotter, drier weather will challenge Oregon’s response. - ➤ Hillsboro mourned 27-year-old Hayden Graser, who died by suicide on April 4 after a long fight with depression — his mother established a scholarship fund with the Hillsboro Schools Foundation to support mental health and suicide prevention research. Hillsboro Herald
