Strawberry season is underway as Smith Berry Barn in Hillsboro invites visitors to pick fresh berries—families can enjoy the hands-on experience and take home their own seasonal fruit.

The Ford Family Foundation awarded up to $40,000 annually in scholarships to nearly 275 students from Oregon and Siskiyou County—including six from Washington County—on Tuesday, June 3.

The awards help students continue post-secondary studies and overcome educational barriers after strong high school performance.

Sunset High School’s senior Kruz Schoolcraft was named Oregon’s Baseball Gatorade Player of the Year on Tuesday, June 3 — his second straight win after posting strong stats in state playoffs.

He will play baseball for the University of Tennessee this fall.

Ben Gregg, a high school star from Columbia Christian and Clackamas, worked out for the Portland Trail Blazers at their Tualatin facility on Tuesday, June 3, and said the workout felt surreal (he grew up watching the team play).

He will work out for Boston today as he prepares for the NBA draft (June 25-26).
