- ➤ Today through June 8, the U.S. Navy is offering free tours of two guided-missile destroyers docked along the Willamette River as part of Rose Festival Fleet Week. Visitor lines may end early and all attendees must pass airport-style security (showing a photo ID and wearing closed-toe shoes). KXL
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Luis Antonio Beltran Arredondo, a 35-year-old Mexican national living unlawfully in Nevada, pleaded guilty to leading a drug trafficking ring that distributed heroin and fentanyl in the Portland area—he laundered over $4.6 million through a Tualatin beauty salon and will be sentenced Aug. 18 before Judge Michael Simon. - ➤ Today, a former Clean Water Services employee in Washington County alleged mismanagement and cronyism under former CEO Diane Taniguchi-Dennis (who has resigned) that included creating a redundant management team and questionable staffing decisions, prompting the Herald to file an ethics complaint and notify state agencies to audit alleged financial abuses.
