On Monday, Portland’s JinJu Patisserie won the Outstanding Bakery trophy at the James Beard Awards—held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago with over 1,500 attendees—while Timothy Wastell of Amity’s Antica Terra was named Pacific Northwest Best Chef.
The wins honored Oregon’s chefs and showcased the region’s strong culinary talent.

Three Oregon lawmakers introduced a bill to limit when the National Guard can be deployed after concerns over federal overreach during protests in California.

Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici held a town hall Tuesday at Raymond Arthur Brown Middle School in Hillsboro where she discussed ICE policies and Intel layoffs—hundreds of locals raised concerns about federal actions.
She said her next town hall will be at Seaside High School on Friday to address more community issues.
