- ➤ Washington County will ask voters on Nov. 4 to approve a 5-year library levy that raises the tax from 22 cents to 37 cents per $1,000 of assessed value to fund library services until 2031. The levy is expected to generate about $188.9 million—officials say a public hearing is set for June 24 and most homeowners will pay roughly $129 a year for a typical home valued at $348,600.
