- ➤ Columbia County Sheriff warned that losing a $2.2 million federal boating safety grant has cut marine law enforcement funding by 30% because Oregon did not meet new grant conditions due to its sanctuary status. His office now plans to have only one deputy on the water while officials work to find alternative funding—if no support comes, the marine program may be ended. KOIN
- ➤ Today, Oregon lawmakers passed a bill to tax nicotine pouches at 0.65 cents for packs with 20 or fewer pouches and 3 cents per pouch for larger packs—an effort expected to raise up to $30 million for wildfire prevention.
