- ➤ The Portland Amateur Radio Club will host a 24-hour field day event starting at 11 a.m. June 28 at 2355 N.W. Beach Road in Hillsboro—demonstrating digital, satellite, voice and Morse code communications used for emergencies. - ➤ Police identified 21-year-old Miguel A. Alvarez-Flores of Hillsboro as the victim of a fatal stabbing at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday in a parking lot on the 6200 block of Southeast Foster Road in Portland (no arrests have been made). KATU

- ➤ Portland Opera's Opera a la Cart will perform a free concert at Walters Cultural Arts Center in downtown Hillsboro on Sunday, July 27 from 7 to 8 p.m. Residents can pack a picnic to enjoy a mix of Puccini arias and Porter tunes outdoors—weather permitting. Hillsboro News-Times
