- ➤ The Council on American-Islamic Relations filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office after two Muslim sisters had their hijabs forcibly removed and were photographed while in custody following a protest at last year’s Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. The suit seeks damages, destruction of the booking photos, and new policies to protect the women's religious rights—charges against the sisters had already been dropped. KATU
