- ➤ Washington County Fair will run from July 18 to 27 at Hillsboro’s Westside Commons—featuring a free main stage with country, tribute, Latin and rock acts. The fair will also offer carnival rides, fried foods and livestock shows—adding extra attractions for visitors. Hillsboro News-Times

- ➤ Intel is laying off 529 workers at its Hillsboro and Aloha campuses, with many being engineers. The first job separations will begin on July 15 and run for 14 days — all affected employees have received the required legal notice. KXL
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Robert Atrops, 71, was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison with possible parole after 25 years for the 1988 murder of his estranged wife, Deborah Lee Atrops, whose body was found in the car trunk after she failed to pick up her daughter as scheduled—authorities reopened the case with witness interviews and a review of forensic evidence. - ➤ On July 8th, 483 transportation workers received layoff notices from the Oregon Department of Transportation amid a funding emergency and will remain employed until July 31. Governor Tina Kotek warned that the cuts — the first of two rounds — will reduce winter road services and may lead to more layoffs early next year. Hillsboro News-Times
