Two bicyclists were seriously injured in separate incidents in Washington County on July 13; an adult female was struck by a fleeing vehicle on NW Dairy Creek Road and spent the night in a ditch before being taken to a trauma center, and a 55-year-old male rider was hit at NW Old Cornelius Pass Road when he crossed into traffic and is now in critical condition.

Portland General Electric is urging customers to use simple methods to keep cool and save energy costs as temperatures rise this weekend and into next week.

This weekend Special Olympics Oregon hosted its 53rd Summer State Games at Oregon State University and nearby venues, where over 1,200 athletes from 36 counties competed in track, softball, golf + bocce and many tried to earn a spot for the 2026 Special Olympics USA games.
