  • The Oregon Humane Society and Migration Brewing have partnered for a contest that lets pet owners enter to have their pet’s photo on a can for Best Buds beer, with three winners chosen. The contest runs through July 28 and winners will be announced in August — Migration donates $1 per six-pack sold to support pet care programs.  KXL
  • Hillsboro residents have rallied with a petition after Providence Health & Services announced it will close the 45,000-square-foot Reed’s Crossing fitness center on July 31. Community members argue the center is vital for local seniors and others, and they contend that transferring to a more distant gym will limit access to essential exercise.  Hillsboro News-Times
