ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 21, Hillsboro Police reported that a speeding flatbed tow truck struck a utility truck and a light pole in a construction zone on Northeast Brookwood Parkway, leaving debris on the roadway; the driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while no construction workers were harmed.  KATU

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Columbia Sportswear—based in Oregon—filed a lawsuit against Columbia University on Wednesday after it said the school sold clothes with the Columbia name without using the full logo as agreed. The suit says this breach of contract may confuse buyers by mixing its name with other brands such as Champion and Nike.  KOIN

CRIME NEWS

  • On July 17, 2025, the Washington County Community Violence Reduction Team executed four simultaneous search warrants in Washington County, recovering multiple firearms and arresting three individuals; on July 23, a grand jury indicted two alleged gang leaders from Beaverton—Alvarez faces charges including racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder while Cisneros-Vite is charged with unlawful firearm possession, sale and furnishing alcohol to a minor.  KATU
  • A 13-year-old foster girl from Gresham went missing on July 22 and is believed to be in danger as officials say she was last seen near 82nd Avenue in Hillsboro — Oregon DHS asks anyone who sees her to call 911.  KATU
  • Hillsboro Police say 14-year-old Tehya Salinas went missing on Thursday evening near Northeast Cornell Road and 51st Street—she is 5-foot 6, weighs 110 pounds, has long brown hair, was last seen in a white shirt and black baggie jeans with her glasses left behind and they ask anyone with information to call 503-629-0111.  KATU
