Good morning, Hillsboro.

Authorities began an investigation on July 21 in Aloha after a 20-year-old woman reported being held against her will and sexually assaulted at a home on SW Applegate Drive when suspect Dru Hendrix, 58, was arrested on July 22 and booked on charges including first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, kidnapping and attempted compelling prostitution — further charges may follow as the investigation continues.

On July 25th, Washington County Search and Rescue replaced its 25-year-old van with a new $70,000 vehicle provided by the sheriff’s office foundation—this upgrade gives rescue teams improved transport for emergencies.
