- ➤ A train derailed at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in North Plains near NW Main Street and NW Hillcrest Street—no injuries were reported and emergency crews with a hazmat team are monitoring the scene while traffic is affected. KATU
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Marquez Goldsby II, a 21-year-old from Aloha, was arrested in Washington County on Friday, Aug 8 in connection with a June 29 downtown Portland shooting where a witness reported gunfire but no injuries occurred. He faces charges including attempted murder and a search warrant led police to recover a handgun — not believed to be the weapon used in the incident. KATU

- ➤ David Schapiro, a Hillsboro School District bus driver, donated his 100th gallon of platelets to the American Red Cross yesterday—a milestone that has helped save over 400 lives.
