- ➤ Authorities are searching the Tualatin River—two human body parts were found near Rood Bridge Park on Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9—and detectives, along with specialized teams from several counties, continue the investigation. Hillsboro News-Times
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Leaders of the Oregon Ethics Commission said on Friday that rules for public meetings were too unclear to ensure decisions were made openly, and they will seek advice from lawmakers and the Oregon Law Commission to fix the problem. The commission investigated the Salem City Council for possible violations of the law and has talked with Rep. Nathan Sosa (from Hillsboro) about refining the policy in the next legislative session.
