A Hillsboro house fire injured two people Saturday morning and one died on Monday after being rescued and taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center—the second victim remains hospitalized and the cause is under investigation.

The Hops claimed their second straight series in the Northwest League by winning four of six games against Everett, with strong pitching including Daniel Eagen’s seven-inning shutout on Aug15—boosting their chances in upcoming games.

The wins improved Hillsboro’s record ahead of six games in Eugene later this week.
