EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Portland Community College hosted a tour on Sept 12 at the Willow Creek Opportunity Center in Hillsboro to showcase three new high-tech labs— a teaching cleanroom, an artificial intelligence lab and a manufacturing lab designed to train students and local workers for jobs in semiconductor production and advanced manufacturing. The cleanroom will open this fall with state grant funding while the AI lab has been operating since January and the manufacturing lab supports the Quick Start Semiconductor Technician Training program. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oregon lawmakers and the Central Oregon Disability Support Network say the Education Department canceled the last year of a Community Parent Resource Center grant that helped more than 4,000 rural families with disabled children.
