GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • TriMet announced that Washington County riders will see reduced service on Line 52-Farmington/185th starting November 30 due to a budget shortfall — evening trips after 9 p.m. will run once an hour. Further cuts on other routes are planned for March 1 and beyond while TriMet asks for rider input via a survey open until Oct 31 and open houses at local libraries.  Hillsboro News-Times
  • Oregon U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden pressed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to release all Epstein financial files after his office and the Senate Finance Committee reviewed over $1 billion in suspicious transactions on Valentine’s Day 2024—showing his drive to uncover hidden ties. He introduced the Produce Epstein Treasury Records Act on Sept. 10 and vowed to push for full transparency as Oregon constituents demanded answers.  Hillsboro News-Times
