- ➤ Washington County lifted its burn ban on Oct 10 after heavy rainfall and the Oregon Department of Forestry declared fire season ended—residents can now resume outdoor burning while following local fire district rules. - ➤ Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue announced that the Haas Alert Safety Cloud will be installed in over 80 emergency vehicles by the end of 2026—this system sends real-time alerts to drivers to help improve safety and speed up emergency response times. Hillsboro News-Times

- ➤ Sunset High School boys soccer team defeated defending state champion Jesuit 2-1 on Oct. 9 with two first half goals and a strong second-half defense—marking their first win over Jesuit since Oct. 1, 2015.
