- ➤ On Wednesday, the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis released the December forecast showing that the state’s general fund has improved to a $63.1 million deficit from a $327.7 million deficit as corporate income tax revenue increased by $309.5 million amid federal uncertainty. Gov. Tina Kotek and other lawmakers said they will work to safeguard essential services and support Oregonians facing higher living costs. KOIN

- ➤ Gov. Kotek ordered state agencies to remove obstacles in clean energy permitting and transmission and to work on policy proposals for the Legislature by 2027 — she required over a dozen agencies to provide quarterly updates as they pursue the state's renewable energy and greenhouse gas goals. - ➤ State economists said that extra revenue from corporate income tax adjustments reduced Oregon’s budget deficit from $373 million to $63 million over the two-year cycle ending in June — a change that reflects the state’s ability to pull unexpected funds amid ongoing economic challenges.
