- ➤ State economist Carl Riccadonna told lawmakers yesterday that Oregon’s growth slowed, 18,000 nonfarming jobs were lost and unemployment rose to 5%—with Multnomah and Washington counties hit the hardest. He said moderate growth may begin in 2026 if lower interest rates and tariff cuts spur more business investment. Hillsboro News-Times

- ➤ Predictions from the Westside High School Football Committee released Friday show that West Linn is favored against Central Catholic and Lake Oswego is expected to beat Nelson at Hillsboro Stadium as teams (from 6A through 2A) prepare for state semifinal games this week.
