- ➤ On April 26th a railroad worker found the historic bell from David Hill School near a railway in West Hillsboro and Chavez Hilarion called officials who returned it to the school. School principal Amy Torres and police officer Lisa Erickson said the discovery is a proud moment for local history even as officials look for the missing plaque—this effort shows how our community works together. - ➤ On Saturday, May 10, two people and their dog were rescued from a capsized sailboat at Hagg Lake just before 7 p.m. by sheriff’s deputies and Gaston Fire—first responders used ropes and energy to right the boat with minimal damage while the boaters stayed cold but unhurt. KATU

- ➤ Washington County deputies say that at about 7 p.m. Monday, 26-year-old Trayviana Shoulders kidnapped her two children from their legal guardian at Vista Hills Arms Apartments and drove away in a blue 2016 Mazda CX-5 with an unknown man—authorities say the 3-year-old Zimaya in a yellow shirt and pink shorts and the 2-year-old Michael in a blue shirt and blue shorts are endangered.
